INFORMATION & IDEAS SEARCHING ON SALIVA TESTING ( Week 14 )



Activity : Finding information on saliva testing.



Objective : To fulfill assessors opinion and recommendation.




Content/Procedure : 


1) Student need to follow and fulfill assessors recommendation from presentation on week 10.


2) Student need to find valuable information on saliva testing and consult with the supervisor.




Results / Analysis :


1) Student manage to get an ideas on saliva testing and discuss with the supervisor.


Basically saliva testing is :-

  • Diagnostic technique that involves laboratory analysis of saliva to identify markers of endocrine, immunologic, inflammatory, infectious, and other types of conditions.

  • Saliva is a useful biological fluid for assaying steroid hormones such as cortisol, genetic material like RNA, proteins such as enzymes and antibodies, and a variety of other substances, including natural metabolites, including saliva nitrite, a biomarker for nitric oxide status (see below for Cardiovascular Disease, Nitric Oxide: a salivary biomarker for cardio-protection).


  • Saliva testing is used to screen for or diagnose numerous conditions and disease states, including Cushing's disease, anovulation, HIV, cancer, parasites, hypogonadism, and allergies. Salivary testing has even been used by the U.S. government to assess circadian rhythm shifts in astronauts before flight and to evaluate hormonal profiles of soldiers undergoing military survival training.



Conclusion : As conclusion, student manage to find ideas and information about Saliva Testing. This is recommendation from assessors which is Sir Hisham during presentation. It helps student on how to use human body parameter other than fingerprint sensor in order to get different data from each individual.

ESTIMATING COMPONENT COST ( Week 16 )

Activity : Estimating component and project costing. Objective : Help student to make a budget planning for the FYP project. Content/Procedure :  1) Student make a list of component that need to buy. 2) Student survey the price of components online and make a rough estimation. Result & Analysis :  1) A list of component with their pricing has been made. This is important in order to help student a make a budget for the project. Besides that, student can compare which seller or shop that selling the components with more cheaper and affordable price. This also help student to compare which components with better quality. Figure below show estimated pricing for those components.  Conclusion : Briefly, student manage to make a list of components that need to be used for the project.
