REPORT PROGRESS CHAPTER 2 ( Week 8 )



Activity : Proceed with chapter 2 for the report.



Objective : Help student to complete their FYP 1 report before deadline.

Content/Procedure : 


1) First and foremost, student need to make research for chapter 2 which is literature review.





2) Refer slide from 1st FYP 1 workshop for guides.




Result & Analysis :



1) Research for chapter 2 which is literature review can be found from articles, journal or books. Student need to search for literature review of biometric technology, fingerprint, fingerprint recognition which helps student to understand how fingerprint sensor work and article on thingspeak as references source.


2) By referring to the guidelines, student manage to know what subtopic need to be include in the chapter 2 of the report. Figure below show those subtopic.









Conclusion : To summarize, student manage to find at least 3 sources for literature review which titled Development of Attendance Management System using Biometrics, Fingerprint Biometric Authentication for Enhancing Staff Attendance System and ThingSpeak – an API and Web Service for the Internet of Things. Student manage to finish chapter 2 which later will be showed to supervisor and ask for her opinion.

Activity : Submitting the draft of FYP 1 report to the supervisor. Objective : To ensure and help student finish FYP 1 report before the deadline. ESTIMATING COMPONENT COST ( Week 16 )

Activity : Estimating component and project costing. Objective : Help student to make a budget planning for the FYP project. Content/Procedure :  1) Student make a list of component that need to buy. 2) Student survey the price of components online and make a rough estimation. Result & Analysis :  1) A list of component with their pricing has been made. This is important in order to help student a make a budget for the project. Besides that, student can compare which seller or shop that selling the components with more cheaper and affordable price. This also help student to compare which components with better quality. Figure below show estimated pricing for those components.  Conclusion : Briefly, student manage to make a list of components that need to be used for the project.
