REPORT PROGRESS CHAPTER 3 ( Week 11 )



Activity : Proceed with chapter 3 for FYP 1 report.




Objective : Help student to complete their FYP 1 report before the deadline.




Content/Procedure : 



1) Firstly, student need to make some research for chapter 3 which is Methodology.



2) Student can refer to previous presentation slide or other reliable source.




Result & Analysis : 



1) By referring to the guidelines, student knew what need to be included as subtopic inside Chapter 3.
These subtopic are :


  • Introduction
  • Block Diagram
  • Flowchart
  • Hardware
  • Software

2) Student can use previous block diagram and flowchart, but still need to make research for hardware and software. Below are the components used in this project.

  • Arduino Mega 2560 R3
  • R301T Fingerprint Sensor
  • Micro SD TF Card Adapter Module
  • 3.5" TFT Color Display Screen Module
  • NodeMCU ESP 8266 ESP - 12E Board
  • Male to Female wire jumper






3) Hardware subtopic will briefly explain the components used for the project, the function and their specifications. Meanwhile, software subtopic will explain the properties, working principle and uses the software. Software used for this project is Arduino IDE and ThingSpeak. 




Conclusion : To summarize, student successfully make a research in order to identify and make a list of components and software used for the project. Most importantly, student manage to finish chapter 3 which later will be showed to supervisor and ask for her opinion.

Activity : Submitting the draft of FYP 1 report to the supervisor. Objective : To ensure and help student finish FYP 1 report before the deadline. ESTIMATING COMPONENT COST ( Week 16 )

Activity : Estimating component and project costing. Objective : Help student to make a budget planning for the FYP project. Content/Procedure :  1) Student make a list of component that need to buy. 2) Student survey the price of components online and make a rough estimation. Result & Analysis :  1) A list of component with their pricing has been made. This is important in order to help student a make a budget for the project. Besides that, student can compare which seller or shop that selling the components with more cheaper and affordable price. This also help student to compare which components with better quality. Figure below show estimated pricing for those components.  Conclusion : Briefly, student manage to make a list of components that need to be used for the project.
